How do casement window air conditioners work?

I have a window AC installed and although installing it appears more messy as you will need to break or trim the window/wall to fix it, it's actually easier to install! Since the compressor and fan are right on the window it makes more noise.

I find that window air conditioners are cheaper than the split air conditioners where the compressor and motor are outside and only a more compact unit is inside. The window air conditioners do not need a long tube unlike the split air conditioners.

Casement or window air conditioners have all the parts in the unit which is attached to a window. the compressor, unit, air intake, cooling coils are all inside the box-like enclosure.
