Ants are hive insects. There is a queen that lays all the eggs for the hive, which go through the typical insect life cycle of egg, larvae, pupae, and adult.

Well, there's a queen which will ALWAYS lay eggs and rarely if ever leave the ant hill. Unless a new one is born and kills her then they take her place. Then inside the ant hill the rest of the worker ants take care of her babies.

Like all insects ants start out in an egg. Eggs are usually laid only by a single queen within the ant colony, but this can vary depending on the species of ant. Baby ants emerge from the eggs as a larva. Larva can't really fend for themselves and are fed by worker ants. Eventually the larva will become a pupa.

Ants are born from eggs. The Queen lays eggs and then after a short while the babies hatch from the eggs.

In a typical ant colony a single queen is the only individual that lays eggs, which are cared for and raised by the workers of the colony.
