Burt Baskin and Irv Robbins each had an ice cream parlor in Glendale, California. In 1953, they merged the two businesses to create Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream, which now had 31 flavors, 3 more than Howard-Johnson's famous 28. BR is the world's largest ice cream store with 5800 unit worldwide.
