At first we need to cleanup junk files, for that we can use any cleaning software like crap cleaner etc. Then we should defragment our driver and check for errors regularly. After that we can use a registry fixer to improve the total speed.

Remove the unwanted auto start applications from PC. It helps to speed up the booting. Then remove all unwanted software from your PC. Then run 'Disk Cleanup' every weekend.

at first you keep less icons on the desktop. don't copy any large files on the desktop and always clearing the temp folder in c: drive. do "defragment disk" weekly or monthly. don't keep more files in the recyclebin. always clear the recycle. keep uninstall the software which one you do not using.

To speed up your windows you have clean your junk files properly and must defragment your drives. Also you have to run registry fixer software.
