A lot of the Kaboom cleaners require that you rinse the area after using. If you fail to rinse with water, this may cause that residue. If you are still experiencing the residue after rinsing with water, make sure that you are using the product on a compatible surface and not one that is not formulated for the product.

Pour some plain white household vinegar on a clean cloth. Rub the vinegar over the residue, which is an alkaline compound (and common). The vinegar will cut through it. Vinegar will not stain fabric and is safe on most surfaces. The vinegar smell fades rather quickly.

You can remove the residue from Kaboom cleaner by gently blotting the area with a damp rag. You should allow the area to dry completely to see if there is any residue left over. If there is some residue left over, repeat the process until the area is completely clean.

Some soap and warm water goes a long way with some firm and tough elbow grease. The residue from Kaboom Cleaner should not be that hard to come up from a rug or floor.

If you mean that pesky sticky residue, I have tried using other cleaners to scrub the residue off. These cleaners are the powder cleaners found at your local grocery store's cleaning aisle such as Comet or Ajax. They will scrub the stickies off and leave you with a clean surface.
