When you're moving to a new city, you should make a trip ahead of the move to secure accommodations and get a sense of whether you'll need a car.

Make sure you don't have any respiratory problems, the smog problem is quite bad. It is usually warm even during the winter months so you will not need thick winter clothes. Learn to be patient when driving, the traffic is pretty bad. Check out the neighborhoods carefully some of them are full of gangs and crime.

Money is like water in Los Angeles. You should have at least $5,000 and be prepared to live with a roommate. Also, try to secure a job before making the move.

You need to do research on the particular place you will be moving to. Also, you need to research the cost of living and figure out if the job that you will be taking there will be sufficient to your financial needs. Also, you need to figure out the distance you will be traveling everyday to your new job.

Check the internet and find out as much as you can about the city. The safest places to live, good schools if you have children. You could also contact the Chamber of Commerce if computer research isn't for you. LA is a loud city, an important fact.
