I would got to a large book store like Barnes and Nobles to find a book about gardening or landcaping. Find a basic landscaping book like Landscaping for Dummies. This should contain information like identifying plants and bushes. Lots of times these kinds of books have pictures which help in identifying bushes.

My best advice to you would be go online and do some research or go to your local library and get a book to look at and study because there are alot of poisonous shrubs abd bushes and you wouldn't want to make a mistake or go to your local nursery they may have some pamphlets you can take.

The best way to learn the identity of bushes is to study gardening catalogs. The pictures are very good and the descriptions are very helpful. Look around at different landscaping designs and test yourself with the knowledge you have gained.

Acquire a book that tells you the difference. If you want to save money you can check one at your local library or even search online. Wikipedia is great.
