Depends on the car. Some vehicles have a bumper which will readily accept a hitch. Some need a tow bar attached under the bumper to the undercarriage. I would consult your dealer and ask what's involved for your particular make and model, and I would also ask the shop where you're getting your boat trailor.

The best thing to do is to mount a hitch to the sub frame of your car. also you may want to put stronger shocks on your car.
