Question by  ChristianBennion (80)

How can I get volume in my hair?

Answer by  koti (205)

Cutting your hair in layers will help you pump up the volume. Also use a volume inducing shampoo and when blow drying your hair, dry your hair upside down. Don't use a leave in conditioner because this will weigh your hair down and you will lose your volume. Flat irons will also steal your volume.

If you have straight hair, try using a light volumizer like mousse, and apply it to wet roots before you blowdry. You can also try products labeled as volumizers or root lifters. To get lift while drying, lift the hair up as you're drying, this will create lift in your roots.

For starters, shorter hair tends to be more voluminous. Buy shampoo and conditioner specifically made to increase the volume in your hair. Another simple trick is to use your blow dryer. Flip your head over and blow dry your hair down.

Buy shampoo without wax/plastic, it will weigh hair down. Invest in a good quality natural bristle brush. Blow dry your hair when it is 80% dry. Use the hot setting and brush in the direction you would like hair to go. At the end hit it with a cool shot.

There are many ways, you can have your hair stylist layer your hair it will make it light therefore causing it to look fluffier. You can try teasing or backcombing your hair, that also creates volume in your hair, also only put condition on the bottom of your hair

The easiest, and least damaging way to get volume in your hair is to blow dry it upside down when it is slightly damp. Other methods, such as perming and backcombing can damage the hair.

Choose a volumizing shampoo and conditioner. Flip your hair over and apply volumizing mouse or product to the roots. Dry completely upside down. If your hair is not high enough tease (back comb) your hair and apply hairspray.
