How can I get started in freestyle motocross?

The first thing you need to do is learn to ride a motorcycle. Once you can ride a motorcycle on pavement then you can start on dirt. I would find a local cycle shop and ask if there are any lessons available.

go to a local motocross race and talk to locals interested in the sport. watch a few races before you make up your mind about it. then buy a bike and get started.

It is actually a pretty easy process. Just buy a bike in the engine class you would like to compete in and enter a local race.
