How can I get new Volkswagen transponder keys?

As far as I'm aware, the only people qualified and able to help you with that is your local Volkswagen dealership. Call or visit, and find the parts department. If you need another department, they'll point you in the right direction. Remote key fobs and keyless entry things are usually fairly pricey, particularly from Europe. Be prepared.

If I'm not mistaken, the Volkswagen transponder is a model car that has a little sensor in the key itself to prevent theft. If I'm correct about that, you should be able to get a new key from a Volkswagen dealer. They will have to be special ordered most likely. I went through the same thing with a Volkswagen.

The best place to get these is from a dealer. They might cost you a lot more than ones you find online but you might have to get them programmed by them anyway. So they might give you a deal if you buy them from the dealer. If you buy them online make sure you can program them yourself.

You need to get your VIN(vehicle identification number) from the vin tag on your car, or on your car's title. Then you take your VIN to a Volkswagen dealership and they will make a new transponder key for you.

Your best option would probably be just to go to a VW dealer an get one. That way you know it will work correctly. Otherwise you have to buy one from some where else and have it programed and it might not be cheaper.
