Perhaps he or she is going to bed too early, or they are hungry? If either, change this pattern with them.

Let your baby cry. He/she will cry for about two nights and then will fall asleep. The nurse at the hospital taught us that and a little crying won't harm any baby. Just make sure he/she's ok, I mean, warm, well fed, dry, etc...

If they are waking up hungry, give them a larger snack before bed time. If thirsty, have a bottle or sippy cup of water in the crib and train them to drink that. If they are having night time terrors, put a night light or dim lamp in their room.

Put your baby on a nap schedule - one morning and one afternoon nap. Make sure his tummy is full when putting him to bed.

You can try and not let them take long naps during the day. Also keep them up later at night. Change bedtime to a later time.
