Open your phone book. The first few pages has an advertisement that says "call before you dig" with the picture of a mole. They can tell you.

Call your local gas provider and they will send someone and tell them what you need. They will send someone to your property to mark off the locations in the ground. It is very important that you don't dig without doing this due to the incredible dangers involved.

These lines should be denoted by utility flags on the ground that state "do not dig here, gas line". You can ask your local utility company for a map of local underground gas lines. You can also ask the Geographic Imaging Systems Department at your local city government office for gas line locations, as well.

Call 811 or your local gas company. 811 is also known as "call before you dig" or "know what's below. " When you call 811, all of your underground utility lines will be marked for free. Your lines will be color coded with flags and paint. Yellow for gas.

To find the locations call your local utility companies and they will come to the site and mark it for you. That way if anything happens, like a line busting, it will be their fault.

You will have to call your local gas company. If you give them a few days' notice, they will come out and mark the location of the line with flags. This service is performed at no cost.
