How can I decorate an aqua colored playroom?

I love the aquas! Such positive energy. I would do an "Alice in Wonderland" or "Through the Looking Glass" motif. A color such as aqua is a vivid color that represents imagination. Use lots of mirrors, vivid paintings, and other bright imaginative colors. And pillows of all different colors everywhere.

The color immediately brings to mind water so I would recommend a tropical fish theme. There are clings available that will cling to the wall but are easy to remove.

Aqua can lean toward blue or green. If it's blue, then go with a garden theme by adding clouds and flowers to the room. If it's a green hue, then create an underwater playground by adding fish to the walls and netting to the curtains or ceiling.

I would decorate with white furniture and then accent with yellows, whites and navy blues for the walls, perhaps with murals or juvenile artwork. Navy blue and yellow striped shades or shutters will give the room some personality.

Try an underwater scheme with pictures of fish, water or plants. Use neutral furniture, so you don't overwhelm. Accent with a bright, orangey red and black.

Aqua is a great color! It let's the kids grow into a more mature room and you can decorate it with kid or teen colors and decor. Use whatever colors their toys and room decor they have is and put it with white, creams and browns to stay neutral.
