How can I convert cubic feet of dirt into yards or tons?

To convert cubic feet into cubic yards you have to multiple the number of cubic feet with 0.037037037. To convert a cubic feet of dirt into tons you have multiple the number of cubic feet with 0.0544.

A yard of dirt is 3 feet by 3 feet by 3 feet, or 27 cubic feet. Dirt weighs 100 pounds per cubic foot (+- 25), so rougly 1.4 tons

one cubic feet is equal to 0.21875 tons. Just multiply cubic feet by 0.21875.To convert it to short tons,multiply it by 0.245

Well basically get a hold of a conversion calculator and do the conversion. One ton= 40 cubic feet that should help.

One may convert cubic feet into cubic yards by dividing by the number three since 3 cubic feet is equal to one cubic yard. So, three cubic feet divided by three equals one cubic yard.

You are just going to have to weigh the pounds. But you can find the cubic feet and divide by 3 to get cubic yards

If my math is correct three cubic feet would equal one cubic yard cause there are three feet in a yard but since tons is a weight measurement I don't know how that could be converted properly.
