Look up where the transmitting station is relative to you and point the antenna. in that direction. Make sure there aren't any metal objects in the way. If you can, put it up higher, like on the roof.

You can also move your tv around you living space to see if maybe there us something blocking the signal where it is like trees.

Try moving the antenna closer to a window or higher up on the house. If inside- a window is a great place for the antenna to be near. It will boost the signal.
