How can I block USB storage devices?

Under Windows, USB storage devices can be disabled by a registry change. Start regedit and navigate to the key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\UsbStor and change the Start value to 4. To re-enable USB devices change the Start key value back to 3.

right click computer and select manage. in here you can remove the drive letters associated with the device blocking access to it by the user.
