Keep the freezer organised and not cramped so the temperature is constant. Make sure the packaging is thick and airtight. Freeze smaller portions. Do not freeze hot foods.
The key to avoiding freezer burn on meat is to eliminate all air from the package. This can be accomplished by using a ziplock bag and squeezing all the air out, or by wrapping the meat in freezer paper.
Freezer burn happens when the meat gets too cold. To prevent this from happening, make sure that the meat does not come in direct contact with ice or any metal part of your freezer.
