When the hidden knots are obvious on the bottom or the top sewing surface, tension ajustment is rquired. If the loops are on the bottom, try a larger needle size. For topstitching, use regular thread in the bobbin and the topstitching thread on top. Turn adjustment bobbin screw is 1/8th.

Best suggestion I would give you or anyone is take the machine to a crafts or speciality store that can take a look at your sewing machine to adjust

This can be tricky but careful tighten or loosen the screws that control the bobbin. Making sure not to strip them because they are small.

Sew a seam into a piece of fabric. If the lines on both sides are not the same, then the tension dial needs to be turned to tighten or loosen it. The thread may need to be manually loosened or tightened by pulling it through the assembly. Continue testing until the seam is equal on both sides.

There is always a manual with these types of things. Take some waste cloth. Try to adjust every adjustment by yourself. The adjustment you like fix it for ever.
