How are Baptist deacons chosen?

I would like to be a Baptist deacon.

Baptist deacons are nominated by a member of the church. After they've been approved by a committee they can be voted on by all church members.

First, you have to be Baptist. Then, you need to tithe regularly. The unspoken secret is that deacons are the people who support the local church the most financially.
