Yes, Western Digital's external drives are the best. Their drive enclosures are rock solid and look nice, and the drives are quality drives straight from Western Digital, unlike cheaper competitors who use low quality hard drives.

Western Digital makes an acceptable drive, although other makers such as Seagate do pretty well too. The best advice is to not put too much trust in any one device.
