The sun's photosphere has a temperature of 5800 Kelvin. By Wein's law, it radiates energy most strongly at 500 nm, which is green, the sun's color. It appears yellow due to the atmosphere scattering blue and green light away. Human eyes are most sensitive to green light.

I believe the sun is a lot like light through a prism. All the colors concentrated in one make the color white. From what scientists say, the sun is white.
