Yes, they all mostly work it depends on how old the TV is and what kind of universal remote you bought.I get my universal remotes for BestBuy they always work and i never have a problem with them.I would tell you to return the broken universal remote and buy another from BestBuy.

The universal remotes very rarely work at all. You should look online for the exact remote your television uses. Just look on amazon for a new remote they do not cost that much.

The One For All universal remote control is a very good brand to replace your lost remote with they are easy to program and if you lose the code book it is easy to find the codes over the internet.

Unfortunately, universal remotes are kind of junky. They don't always work, or perform all the tasks you need or would like for them to do. If you have not tried learning mode yet do that.
