Does the money for a money order come out of my bank account?

The funds for a money order must be pre-paid. Generally, they do not come directly out of your bank account, since you have to pay the cash in advance. Of course, you can withdraw the cash from your account to do this, but you do need the cash on hand.

A money order requires a cash payment or the use of a debit card. If a debit card is used, the money would come out of that bank account.
