Pepsid AC that can be purchased over the counter is not intended for long term use. Your doctor will need to prescribe something stronger for long term.

Yes, Pepcid AC does work for those looking to take it for a length of time. People with any kind of kidney disease of kidney problems should not take it, and should consult with their Doctor. As with all medications, Pepcid AC can have side effects. Ask your Doctor for longterm advice.

In my opinion and from my personal experience, I say go with Prilosec. You usually only need to take it once a day and it will help with heartburn, acid stomach and belching.

Prilosec OTC, you only have to take once a day. Pepcid AC, you have to take 2 times a day. Also I have found Pepcid to not control my acid as well. But pepcid is cheaper than Prilosec. Prilosec has some strange problems when used with certain other drugs, check with your doctor first
