No it does not. Herpes Simplex is transferred from skin to skin contact and will show up on the mouth. Listerine will not stop the infection.

Listerine does have Virucidals but that does not mean that it is an effective treatment against or for herpes simplex. There are much better options on the market to date.

Yes, the active ingredients Alcohol will kill the virus outside of the bodies cells. Virus within intact cell membranes can survive if the cell resists the alcohol effect.
