The toxins and cigarette smoke in general will affect plants. Plants absorb indoor toxins and pollutants in the air. Plants will add to the air quality as they help to add humidity and help eliminate smoke in the air. Over time the plant can absorb enough contamination that its growt will be stunted and it won't have proper nutrients.
