Yes, a nurse anesthetist does need malpractice insurance, just like a nurse practioner would need it. If a nurse anesthetist is working privately, they would need a policy for themselves, to cover them in a case of a malpractice lawsuit against them personally. In some instances, a nurse anesthetist may also be covered by the employer's insurance policy.

A nurse anesthetist needs to carry malpractice insurance. In our litigious society, most medical professionals should be insured. Anesthesia has a high chance for accidents, so it is important.
