The color of hydrangea will change according to the pH level of soil and soil type. To raise the pH level we can add lime. They have the capacity to change the color by their own. We can add aluminum sulfate in the soil to change the color of hydrangea to blue.

Not all the hydrangea changes its color. It is not like the pure white hydrangea would change abruptly to blue. The white colored hydrangea changes to light colors like mauve or pink. The color change in hydrangea depends on the pH of the soil.
