In most cases, you will want to remove furniture. Heavy furniture will prevent the carpet from being stretched evenly and could create problems if you want to rearrange the furniture in the future.

The weight of furniture will affect stretching your carpet. To make sure the carpet is stretched properly, remove the furniture before re-stretching.
