Do not depend on breastfeeding as a form of birth control, anytime you have un protected sex you are at risk for pregnancy. While many women do not get pregnant while breastfeeding, just as many do.

No! There is no guarantee you will be infertile even WHILE you are breastfeeding. You should never rely on breastfeeding as your only birth control method.

No. You are fertile from the time your baby is born. You should take the proper precautions in order to prevent pregnancy if you don't want to get pregnant again.

You should be just as likely to conceive after weaning as you were before you were pregnant. However, women can use breastfeeding as a contraceptive if there baby is six months or younger, if you are fully breastfeeding and if you have not had a period. This is called the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM).
