Yes, the amount of nitous oxide given depends on how much you weigh. I've been going to the dentist since I was seven and received nitrous oxide since then.

Not every dentist's office uses nitrous oxide, and some who do may not use it for a minor procedure. Contact your dentist and request it if available.

Yes they do. Just enough of the gas is used to put the child in a very relaxed state, yet not totally asleep.

Typically, if a dentist has nitrous oxide in his office, he will try to give it to your kids. It works great.
