Yes of course. They are better now then ever before. They even make some that supposedly cut off the radar when it passes by so the cop can not get a read on your speed.

The do still make radar detectors. Ever time they introduce a new radar format the industry comes out with the appropriate type of detector to catch it. When using a properly installed quality setup the do function pretty good and can give you a good heads up.
