Do the Mormons own the Pepsi company?

No they do not. This is a common urban legend, and while the Mormon church and its holding companies do own, or have stakes in, a large number of American businesses there is no evidence for them owning even a portion of the Pepsi corporation. They do bankroll the Boy Scouts of America, though.

No, they don't. PepsiCo is a publicly traded company. Its shareholders own it. Neither the founders nor current CEO (who is from India) have ties to the LDS church. Furthermore, most Mormons don't drink caffeine, so it wouldn't make much sense for them to be invested in a soft drink company. There's no MormonPepsiGate scandal.

Not at all, this is an urban legend started some time ago. Moroms do not in fact own Pepsi. It is true however that Mormons own Chik-fil-a. Apparently they bought it from another religious group. Anyway, that is why Chik-fil-a sells caffeine free soda and is closed on each and every sunday.

This is also false. Chik-Fil-A was founded by a Christian, not a Mormon, and his family still runs the company today. The reason that they are closed on Sunday is that the management believe that the Sabbath day is to be observed. They sell soda both with and without caffeine.  add a comment

This question is a variation on a common urban legend. Often the claim is also made that the Mormons own Coca-cola company. Actually, both companies are publicly listed on the stock exchange and enjoy a diverse ownership group.

This is a rumor that has gone around for years. It has also been said that they own Coca-Cola. In actuality, the LDS church owns many businesses, including sugar and garment factories, insurance, pineapple plantations, and cattle ranches to name a few. Ask their headquarters for a copy of holdings.

No the Mormons as an organization do not own any commercial products. There are some mormons on the board. Pepsi has no official religious affiliations.

PepsiCo, makes of the famous Pepsi brand drink, has a broad ownership and is traded on the New York exchange ('PEP'). It is not controlled by any particular religious group.

No, but that do own a large portion of the stock in 7-up and have encouraged the campaigns that promote 7-up as clean with no caffiene.

Um, no, they do not own this company. It is a conglomerate and owned by businessmen and stockholders from around the world. I'm not sure where this question is coming from.

I guess esteem is referring to "the corporation of the president of the church of jesus christ of latter-day saints". I believe that most of the owners of that conglomerate that brings in billions annually are local though!  add a comment

No, the Pepsi company is not owned by Mormons. However the PepsiCo company does happen to own Quaker Oats brand.

Certainly individual Mormons may own stock, but the notion that the Mormon church owns either Pepsi or Coca-Cola is a popular urban legend, made funnier because Mormonism forbids caffeine.
