Stretch marks are essentially scars that are caused by the over stretching and tearing of the dermis. Just like any scars, stretch marks eventually begin to fade to a color more similar to your skins natural pigmentation, however, many treatment creams and remedies are available to speed up the process.

It can feel like stretchmarks will never go away, but they do fade with time, though they never completely go away. Certain products like Mederma and tamanu oil can help accelerate fading.

Well, in some cases they do but stretch marks from pregnancy or on the knee area usually do not fade. You can try using vitamin E to fade the marks.
