Portable dishwashers of a reliable well known company would certainly work well. Also since they're portable they would be compact,light weight and easy to maintain and repair.
Portable dishwashers work as well as a built-in. However, most people, probably prefer built-ins or under-the-counter type dishwashers because they are stationary;inconvenience is one reason.
As far as washing your dishes they work very well. I have had both portable and nonportable dishwashers and couldn't tell the difference in how clean the dishes came out. The only drawback I had with the portable dishwasher was that we had to drag it across the kitchen in order to hook it up to the kitchen sink.
