Do I need to up my insurance during my pregnancy?

Would they let me do it at this point?

No. You cannot change your insurance after you are already pregnant. Most health plans have the pregnancy provision already in place.

If you have a bad policy you probably should have fixed that before hand. You could check with your company but I doubt they will let you change it. A pregnancy according to health insurance companies is a 'pre-existing condition'. If you're not already insured it's nearly impossible to become insured.

You want to make sure that you at least have insurance prior to pregnancy because insurance companies can claim pregnancy is a pre-existing condition and not cover expenses if you get it after you're pregnant. You have to check with your individual insurance to determine if you can change it.

Assuming you're talking about life insurance it isn't a bad idea. You can do it during pregnancy. Your weight gain is accounted for with the pregnancy.
