Do goldfish eat other fish?

I know for a fact goldfish eat fish, as my fish ate another one cos it was smaller and it had plenty of food to eat but chose to eat it's mate!

Goldfish do not eat other fish. They may attack other fish at some point but do not have a big enough mouth to eat other fish.

It is actually unknown to me whether or not goldfish eat other goldfish. I am assuming that if a decently sized fish is hungry, and there is no food available to it, that it will eat another of its species assuming that the prey is smaller than the original fish.

I noticed that my beta was missing from my tank and unless there was a fishnapping then my goldfish ate my female betta.

I beg to differ. I currently have a fantail with my sucker fish sticking out of its mouth. What do I do? I've had this sucker fish for 4 years and the fantail for 4 months. They get fed and cleaned regularly.

I just caught my goldfish with another fishes tail sticking out of its mouth. So I can tell you for sure that they do eat other fish.

Of course goldfish eat other fish. Look at the ingredients for fish food, and you will find that it is made up, primarily, of dried flaked fish. But I believe you were referring to other live fish in the fish tank. A goldfish may eat a fish that is significantly smaller than itself, or at least try to.

Normally they don't.but they eat tiny creatures aoming across their way.They, when live in ocean,after mating,sometimes eat small fish,but not in aquarium.

yes they do, i brought 6 neon tetras, 3 days after there was only 1, the only fish in the tank was a goldfish, beware, your friendly goldfish is jaws.

Gold fish eat small plants, crustaceans and insects . It is not eat other fish. They like pellet foods. Large fish chew on the other parts of the fish. big goldfish will eat anything small enough to fit in their mouth including fish because goldfish do not like to be petted
