It was a common belief before, but by today scientist discovered that dogs do see colors. They just see less tones then people.

Dogs see only two primary colors - blue and yellow, while humans see three primary colors, red, blue and green. So yes, they see color, but they see it differently.

Due to the presence of cones in dogs' eyes, they can see in color. However, it is comparable to a person who is red/green colorblind.

No, dogs see more colors in the light spectrum, just not nearly as vibrantly or in as many colors as humans do. The reason they see colors this way is because it helps them see much better in the dark and they can see quick movements, which helps them hunt.
