I do not believe it is possible for a dog to get autism. This is a uniquely human trait. Howver many dogs have been known to help children with autism by being friendly companions.

Dogs don't get autism in the way that humans do. Dogs can get certain disorders or neurological problems that might resemble human autism, but no, dogs do not get autism.

Autism is a neurological condition that, so far, only looks to appear in humans. That said, dogs can be born with traits that look similar to autism, ADHD, anxiety or depression. Vets can treat some of these symptoms with medication; others are just part of the dog's personality.

Autism is unique to humans. It is defined as the inability to understand the reasoning of others. However, it requires the ability to reason - which dogs don't have.
