Yes. A reward certificate is something that they can "show off" to family and friends. They can look at it at a later time and know they got that for doing a good job.

Many children will work for praise and parental pride. If the child does a work book and then receives the certificate at the end by a bored parent, they will stop working for it. If they receive the certificate with a "good job, I'm proud of you!", then they might. You can also try stickers or candy.

Don't use your child as your housekeeper. However, teaching them to be responsable by picking up a few chores isn't a bad thing. Children LOVE recognition and to feel like they are doing something important. I think they'd love certificates or maybe a sticker chart where they can get a reward in the end.

Yes kids love to work for certificates. It makes them proud and it gives them self disciple. Also it helps with their self confidence. Makes them feel good about their self when they earn a certificate. Helps them work harder on their assignments. They love the attention that they receive also.
