No, because the Jews expected the Messiah to fulfill a few things which they say Jesus was not able to do. One was to help the Jews reclaim their land, Israel. The Jews also didn't accept Jesus because He was not a prophet and not from the bloodline of King David.

Actually Jesus came from the bloodline of King David. That is why he is also called Son of David in some verses in the New Testament.  add a comment

Jewish people believe that the Messiah has not come yet, thus they do not believe Jesus is the Messiah. Jews who believe Jesus is the Messiah are known as Jews for Jesus.

The Old Testament mentions that God is One; they expected the Messiah to be a man, a Messenger, which is why they blamed Jesus of blaspheming.

In the Jewish tradition, the Messiah is sent by God to redeem and unite the Jewish people under his rule, leading to a "Messianic age" of peace and brotherhood. Some versions of the Messianic tradition expect the Messiah to be a descendant of the House of David (like Jesus), but he would not literally be the son of God.

Yes, Jewish people believe that the Messiah would be the son of God. A person who is Jewish follows the same scripture as Christians in explaining who the Messiah is. The difference between the two religions is that Christians believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and Jews do not believe that.

Word 'messiah', originating from the Hebrew actually means anointed. Thus in the Old Testament this word is not applied only as regards to prophecies about Jesus, the coming Messiah. In Daniel's 9th chapter this is the case but otherwise for instance patriarchs of old, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob are called God's anointed ones in the book of 1 Chronicles.

Till this day Jews do not believe that Jesus was the son of god. That is one of the major things that sets Judaism apart from Christianity. So therefore they dont believe in a Messiah.
