Thomas Edison is seen by many as having invented the light bulb. However, Joseph Swan of Gateshead in England registered a patent for an electric bulb in 1878, and it was this design that Edison patented in the US, which led to this common perception. Edison later played a large part in the creation of an electrical distribution network.

Thomas Alva Edison did not invented the first light bulb but the improved version with the help of his collegues.He did not discover electricity, but discover an electrical power system.
