The HCG hormone is what measures whether or not you are pregnant. Dropping weight may help you to get pregnant, but without being actually pregnant, your HCG will still be low. If you're concerned about having a child, I would consult with your OB/GYN or a fertility specialist to get answers.

If your hCG levels, the hormone that is used to determine if pregnancy has occurred, increase after you have lost the weight gain after your child is born, you could be pregnant again. Even nursing mothers can get pregnant - even before having their first period after delivery. Get a pregnancy test as soon as possible.

HCG hormone is known as a hormone of pregnancy. The presence of this hormone in urine or serum helps to confirm pregnancy. HCG does not normally present after delivery, therefore, it has nothing to do with post pregnancy weight loss and, clearly, its levels will not be detectable in blood after dropping baby weight.

The HCG Hormone will only be elevated if you are pregnant as it is an indication of pregnancy. If your hormone level has increased you need to have an ultrasound to determine if you are in fact pregnant.
