Yes and No. There are a few select medications that you can use for use on dogs, but I recommend that you DO NOT use them unless your pet's vet specifically instructs you to use that drug. The same drugs that can help a dog in small amounts can be fatal when you give your dog too much.

It is definitely not recommended that you use people medication for dogs. Your vet will prescribe the right medication for the disease or ailment. You also shouldn't use your dogs medication on humans as well. Your vet will give you the correct dosage and time for your animal to take their medication.

There are some medications that people take that can be safe for dogs. You should only give your dog these medicines after consulting your veterinarian. The dosing amount needs to be closely monitored so that you can avoid potential side effects including death. So remember to be safe and always check with your vet first.

Only with the approval of your veterinarian. While many human medications are safe for dogs some common, everyday, over the counter human medications can be highly poisonous to them.
