Can you use a timeshare as a tax write off?

I have a time share and would like to know if it is a tax write off.

If your timeshare loan is an unsecured loan, this does not qualify to be used as a tax deduction. Unless your timeshare is used for business purposes.

There is nothing about owning a time share that makes it deductible--or not deductible--in its own right. If it is related to something for which you can take a deduction (for example, if it is used for business purposes), then it can be deducted. Otherwise, it cannot.

No, a time share is not a valid tax write off. It is a personal, recreational expense. You cannot write it off as a business or personal expense.
