The noise could be caused by the oil passages being clogged. You will have to pull the valve cover and inspect for this and while it is off check by hand to insure that none of the rocker arms are loose, they can loosen over time.

Well lifter noise is generally caused by one of two things. One reason is that the valves are simply loose and the slack is causing the noise. To fix this re-tighten them to factory specifications. The other cause could be drive train damage. Some component of the upper valve train could have failed. Do a visual inspection and replace parts.

If your lifter are making noise then either they are damaged or need tightened back up. You will have to open the engine up to find out for sure. Inspect them for wear and damage and replace them if needed. Otherwise re-tighten them back to factory specs.

If your lifter are making noise then you probably need to adjust your valves. Get yourself a good manual or look online and find the procedure to adjust your valve lash. Check for damaged parts because this could cause noise also.

There could be a sticking valve on this side of the engine, or a filter may need to be changed.

Your problem may be that the rocker arms on the head are out of adjustment. It also could be that the exhaust is loose or your timing could be out of adjustment.
