You will need to thread the needle through the bobbin case and pull the thread through the other side. This is also depends on the model of the machine.

Place the spool on the pin and bring the thread across the top, down through the loop, under the tension, through the hole in the lever and thread the needle.

The only time you will use the pedal is to make sure it is going up and down and that you will catch the bobbin thread. After you have treaded your machine you will hold the end of thread to and turn the wheel and let the thread go to the bobbin then pull both threads to top of machine
