I would suggest getting some construction paper folding it in half and having your children creat their own personal cards. You can also check out some web sites that offer free holiday cards. I am sure you can find some great ideas to put your children's card making adventure into full production.

Yes I love for my grandkids to have a sleep over at mammie's house and we color, paint or whatever they want to do to decorate our cards for holidays.
