Yes, it definatly is possible to have an allergic reaction to white gold. White gold contains nickel, which is often the cause of peoples alergic reations to white gold. For most people however, the reaction causes red, itchy and irrated skin where it is in contact with the white gold.

Technically speaking, an allergic reaction is a specific type of auto-immune response to proteins. Since gold is a mineral and does not have proteins it is not possible to have that specific type of reaction. This does not change the fact that some people do react to white gold but they are reacting to nickel or other metals.
